This work was exhibited in a group exhibition "Exhibition 01" in the Gallery Immigration Office in Bremen.
In the basement of the gallery, the artist built a waiting room. As a common thing, most immigration offices have a waiting room. A waiting room is also a common space in modern civil administration/service places. These waiting rooms usually have the popular decoration style, which is comfortable chairs, hanging pictures on the walls, potted plants on the tables, and windowsills. Of course, the waiting rooms in many places may be completely different, or they may not exist at all. In the installation, she summarised these common and distinctive features based on her experience. In the dark and wet basement of an old butcher’s shop, which now as a gallery room, she built up this unrealistic space. “As immigrants in history, we are waiting here. Did this place ever belong to us? It never belonged to anyone.”
The work is a room installation with a female voice calling various waiting numbers in Chinese, such as "number four, please go to the window of number three".
